PPTIK ITB has program “Membangun Negeri dengan IoT” to encourage the collaboration of Vocational Schools, Universities, Non-Government Organization (NGO), Local Government, Central Government ang industry to joint and take advantage to implement science and technology for solving our own problems. This research is prepared to cope the needs of Dinas Perhubungan Propinsi Jawa Barat; to achieve an integrated and comprehensive service regarding the development of ICT-based public transportation, monitoring and managing public transportation (AKDP). Based on this information, we (PPTIK) intend to carry out social service activities, development and implementation of IoT-based public transport application. Beside that, PPTIK provides practical assistance for implementing Semut Jabar services and ensuring the fleets to be able using Semut Jabar consistently. The result, Semut Jabar has been integrated with several public transportation by installed the GPS tracker. Each GPS is connected to PPTIK datacenter and become web-based information system which is used PPTIK’s architecture of IoT systems. Some of information that can be seen: • Public vehicle position data can be monitored (tracking) in real time • Public transport users can access information on the existence of public transport with a large number of users / passengers (minimum 100,000 users).
