Miftahul Ulum Islamic Boarding School plan to develop its area to become an integrated area including school, mosque, office, sport center, housing and also agriculture field. In order to make a detailed design of the land utilization, material (including rock and soil) condition and ground water regime are the vital informations that have to be obtained. Sample has been taken from the site including limestone, sandstone, siltstone and also claystone. All sample is tested in Laboratory of Geomechanics and Mining Equipment ITB to get the material properties both mechanical and physical properties. Geological structure is mapped along the original slope and also excavated slope. Geological structure data is used for determining the potential slope failure due to the discontinuities. Water sample from the natural spring is also taken from two different areas. The water sample is delivered to the Environmental Laboratory ITB to obtain the characteristics of water. Besides quality of water, the existing groundwater can also influence the stability of the certain area. So, the existing water has to be maintained to avoid the potential slope failure caused by water.
