Ringkasan Kegiatan

Pilot plants of Masaro Waste Industries (IPS Masaro) in Cirebon and Cilegon have been built in the beginning of 2019 almost at the same time by the grants of Dow Chemical International, USA, and PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical, respectively. Trial operations of both units have been started from April 2019 by processing total domestic waste of the respective local communities to produce liquid fertilizer, animal feed, plantation media, fuel oil, and recycled materials to be zero waste. The zero waste goal was successfully achieved, however, study need to be done especially in the aspect of evironmental safety and health. Plastic Refinery is one of the essential unit in the Masaro Waste Industry that convert low value plastic waste into fuel oil by using heat produced by Masaro incenerator. This refinery produce ash as by-product for plant media, and smoke and water as waste. The study here focus on the analysis of smoke release to the environment and waste water produced, and observing the atmosfer at the site. The analysis was done in Sucofindo, while atmosferic condition was done by direct observation to the smoke spreding, smelt from waste treated, and noise from the machinaries, and also general impact This results and atmosferic abservation result have produced recommendation following recomendation: 1. The chimney needs to be 5m higher than the existing 2. Waste water needs to be treated to achieve the environmental standard with the design below. 3. Incenerator feeder needs to be equiped with smoke suchtion to avoid the smoke spreading in the operation room. 4. Modification of the refinery unit is required to improve the heat transfer efficiency and increased the number of heat supplied. Number 1 to 3 recommendations have been implemented, while no 4 recommendation has been follow up by producing new design that in compact in form and beter heat transfer in the operation
