The main cause of road accidents is human error as a result of reckless driving behavior and ignorance of traffic rules. Building awareness about traffic safety particularly concerning traffic rules will be more effective when it is embedded since early ages through formal and informal education. Ade Irma Suryani Traffic Park (AISTP) in Bandung is a potential asset to be a means for kids to learn about traffic rules and practice some road experiences directly while playing. However, such educational function became limited. AISTP is more of a playground rather than a traffic park. Based on the observation, we offered our contribution in revitalizing traffic safety education in the park by first, in 2015, identifying stakeholders that have been and is potentially involved in improving this traffic park. Second, we conducted observation survey to map out physical issues concerning the layout of traffic signs and facilities in the park. Third, we distributed questionnaires to 133 AISTP visitors during weekdays and weekend within a week on November 2015. The result shows that most respondents agreed to the idea of improving the traffic education aspects by applying hands-on approach for children. Next, to complete 2015’s target, we plan to arrange follow-up meetings with AISTP foundation and Toyota in January 2016. In these meeting, we intent to discuss about the results of our surveys and we expected result of these meetings to establish commitment to further consolidate concepts for revitalizing AISTP.
