Community service activities have been carried out in the form of molecular breeding webinar which are held for researchers, student practitioners and the general public on June 8th-9th, 2020 with title: ” Aplikasi genome-wide Association Studies (GWAS) dan Genomic Selection (GS) pada pemuliaan molekuler” . The speakers at this webinar were from the scientific group of Genetics and Molecular Biotechnology, SITH - ITB, consisting of: Dr. Dadang Sumardi, Dr. Adi Pancoro, Dr. Husna Nugrahapraja and Dr. Popi Septiani. In this webinar, other speaker who are competent in this topic were invited, namely Dr. Mohammad B. Belaffif. He is an alumni of the SITH –ITB postgraduate program. The materials presented in this webinar are as follows: 1. Principles and basics in molecular breeding (Dr. Dadang Sumardi) 2. The role of molecular markers in molecular breeding (Dr. Husna Nugrahapraja) 3. Genotyping with NGS technology (Dr. Mohammad B. Belaffif) 4. Genomic Selection application for molecular breeding (Dr. Adi Pancoro) 5. GWAS application for molecular breeding (Dr. Popi Septiani) 6. Demo analysis of GWAS with Tassel 5.0 & R (Dr. Popi Septiani) This webinar event was attended by various groups, including researchers, lecturers, students and employees. Participants came from various public and private universities in Indonesia, research centers and private companies engaged in agriculture. This event can be viewed via Youtube: https://m.youtube.com/channel/UC-C46VJFJGW_lEqHnL3D33g This Community Service activity is expected to increase the knowledge of researchers and plant breeders from both research and industrial institutions in developing plant breeding techniques based on molecular markers and GWAS applications so that plant breeding efforts can be more precise and efficient. The output of this activity is a reference book about Molecular Breeding with ISBN. The draft of the book is on the Apendix 1 of this report.
