Indonesian population’s lack of access to water utilities (Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum) clean water remains a big challenge for environmental engineers. Modular water treatment, which requires both lower investment costs and shorter construction period than conventional installation, is one of the answers to that challenge. However, the downside of modular water treatment installation is its sedimentation unit that uses a lot of space. Furthermore, the purpose of this experiment is testing the performance of the innovative modular water treatment that has 20 lpm for the maximum flow rate operation to remove total suspended solid (TSS), iron, and turbidity. Water treatment installation is supposed to have optimum condition based on the quantity and the quality of the water effluent. One of the factors that affected the optimum condition is water flow rate operation. Therefore, three levels of water flow rate are tested. Then, the quality of the water effluent is tested in laboratory fit with the parameters reviewed (TSS, iron, and turbidity) refer to National Standard of Indonesia (SNI).
