In this modern world, cultural appreciation is increasing significantly. Huge appreciation of Indonesia‟s local wisdom has opened new opportunity for the development of sustainable material. Tololela village which is located in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara is one of the region that produces woven cloths from cotton and rayon fibres. The weaving activities are still carried out by the women traditionally using a wooden loom called gedogan. Woven cloths which is one of the flagship product of Tololela village has become the main income for the villagers. According to Widiawati (2009), the creative process of craft artisan can be influenced by their natural background as well as their cultural tradition. In addition, ornaments used in the craft artefacts possess symbolic values and philosophies (Widiawati, et al., 2012). Therefore, development of the woven cloths are needed to improve the product quality in order to escalate the market competitiveness by utilizing local potentials.

Tololela villagenwhich is located in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara is one of the region that produces woven cloths from cotton and rayon fibres, but the weavers still using synthetic dyes due to their limited knowledge in utilizing local potentials, for instance they can use coffee or avocado shells from the surroundings plantation, and Monotonous woven ornament composisition which are dominated with black and white color. Due to those issues, this project aims to raise the value of local woven entities in Tololela village by utilizing natural dyes.
