Based on Act no. 26 of 2007 on Spatial Planning, the proportion of green open space to be provided in urban area is at least 30% of total area of the city. Green open space in urban area consists of public green open space and private green open space. The proportion of public green open space in urban areas is at least 20% of city area, whereas private green space is at least 10% of the area. However, Indonesia Environmental Control Agency in 2007 revealed that the green open spaces left in the City of Bandung is now 8.76 percent, or about 1,700 acres. The purpose of the community service activities is the development of productive and enviromentally sustainable green open space in areas with limited space. The approach used in this community service activity is through community empowerment, along with assistance to the community.
