This community service activity focuses on efforts to improve the quality of batik production that has existed in the village of Loji, Jatiwangi-Majalengka, West Java, which has been produce batik for several years, but is constrained by various things. One of them is the lack of ornament that portray the area, as well as the low product quality. This resulted in a lack of market interest in batik products from the area, as well as being unable to compete with well knowns similar products. For this reason, concrete efforts are needed in order to improve the quality of batik products from this area. Breakthroughs are needed in the development of batik to improve the quality and competitiveness of the market. The alternatives are by utilizing local potential, such as the skills of local villagers and by using natural dyes in the area. One of them is the establishment of Taruna Batik in 2009 in Loji Village, Jatiwangi District, Majalengka Regency. Strategy of this project focused on business development organize by the experts to support each other and to assist Taruna Batik optimally. In addition, this program structured to provide alternative problem solving through workshops that are carried out in stages, continuously and monitored so that the results can be perceived maximally. Hopefully after this program ends, the batik community can work independently by producing best quality products. The methodology used in this project are: • Observation, • Analysis Method • Workshop: a. Conducting workshops with the batik community on various ways of developing designs in order to obtain optimal and varied results; b. Conducting consultations on the development / design of batik ornamental designs; c. Making samples / prototypes of products resulting from design development; d. Conduct evaluative studies as feedback for the team and batik community.
