Traditional artifacts in Indonesia have diversity in terms of manufacturing techniques, materials, and functions. Learning about traditional artifacts is an important part of product design education. Traditional artifact documentation can be source of data for students in assessing the cultural values of a society. Through 3 dimensional data, students are expected to be able to learn shapes, dimensions, materials, artifacts textures and manufacturing techniques. Photogrammetry is one of the 3d scanning methods for artefacts that can be said to be quite economical. This method allows everyone to be able to record digital visual data in sufficient detail. The use of 3D scanning photogrammetry has not been sufficiently optimized for design education in Indonesia. Through this study, the researcher took four traditional West Java artifact samples to record the data using close-range photogrammetry 3d scanning method. The results are divided into two parts. Part one are the evaluation of photogrammetry method that has been done. Part two are the alternative application of digital data from artifacts that have been recorded for their application in design science, especially product design.
