Accompaniment program for Small Enterprises (UKM) producing confections made from cilembu sweet potato in Sumedang district, West Java province aims to increase market interest for cilembu sweet potato as local comodity from Sumedang. Baked ubi cilembu is well known for its sweet taste as it contains a sugary honey-like glaze which is unique to this variety of sweet potato. The distribution of ubi cilembu has reached almost all cities in West Java and other parts of Indonesia, moreover since the year 2000 ubi cilembu has been exported to Japan and Korea. Some ubi cilembu is in conditions which is not appropriate to be sold either uncooked or baked conditions because the tuber contains many holes made by insects which caused bitter taste. The solution to this, started since 2010, has been to process ubi cilembu into various confections such as cake (kue lapis), chips (keripik), sweet toffee-like confection (dodol) and pudding. We made accompaniment program to three small enterprises (UKM) in the locality of Sumedang area which have been producing and marketing those confections. We have conducted interview to the SME about how its production capacity, marketing system of product, and legality of each SME (P-IRT and Halal certificate). Production capacity of an UKM that produce cake from ubi cilembu is 100 boxes/day which was made from 20 kg ubi cilembu, and per box is priced at Rp 30.000,-. Production capacity of UKM that produce keripik is 60 kg/day which was made from 100 kg ubi cilembu, and per pack of 250 g is priced at Rp.17.000,. Production capacity of dodol is 4 kg which was made from 2 kg of ubi cilembu with addition of other ingredients including flour, glutinous rice and sesame. This is a fairly stable production capacity to be used in production systems. Currently, the SMEs had the legality both from The Health Department (No.P-IRT) and from Moslem Religious Authority (Halal certificate). Marketing system that have been implemented so far is to direct selling, supplying to food store at the roadside or rest area, and selling by orders (pre-order). We try to expand the marketing network through advertising on the Internet. We built the advertising web page at jatinangor.id contains description of SMEs, their products, video of production, and address and contact person of the SMEs. In addition, information about the nutritional value of a product can be used as consideration to increase the selling price of the product.
