Ringkasan Kegiatan

The new paradigm known as Industry 4.0 (IR-4.0) is basically a concept to the integration of distributed sensors, actuators and processing units / controllers with communication network. While the elements of Industry 4.0 are not entirely new, it suggests the need for the workforce working in the industrial automation in the near future to have awareness and familiarity with the related concept like cyber-physical system (CPS), Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and big data. In Indonesia, vocational schools, also known as SMK (Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan) have the role to train skilled workers in specific field. There are at least 2 (two) broad fields of SMK that is closely related to industry 4.0: (a) technology & engineering, and (b) information & communication. The introduction of IR-4.0, and particularly IoT technology also opens new market and opportunities to the electronic industries in Indonesia to produce the subsystems, in this case the electronic modules to increase the local content of the IoT related products used in Indonesia. It is therefore important for the SMK to introduce the IoT technology and also the board manufacturing technology in their curriculum.
