Papandayan volcano is one of the active volcanoes in Indonesia situated in the southern part of Garut regency, West Java Indonesia. In 2002 eruption, it released pyroclastic volcanic material to the surface covering the 4 km2 area on the summit to the north part of the volcano and formed new craters on the summit. We have undertaken several geophysical measurements in period of 2009 – 2013 including magnetotelluric, gravity, magnetic and DC resistivity in order to delineate subsurface structure of the volcano. In this year, were have conducted Research and Community Services funded by LPPM ITB at the area around Papandayan volcano. These activities consist of DC resistivity survey, dissemination of the results and compiling a book about Papandayan volcano based on our research results. DC resistivity survey was carried out at the summit area to constraint the shallow resistivity structure. Based on the result of DC resistivity survey, it is clearly seen that subsurface structure of summit area characterized by the resistive zones that can be correlated to the high temperature distributed in center of the region. The pyroclastic distribution was confirmed by low resistivity that can be correlated to the 2002 eruption. As the Papandayan volcano is located in the dense population, it is important to improve knowledge about volcano system for the people living around the volcano. For that reason, we were conducted dissemination of the results to the students of Junior High Schools located in Cisurupan city as one of the stages in hazard mitigation. Method of dissemination is divided into 3 ways; oral presentation, poster presentation and discussion. More than 300 students and teachers involved in this dissemination.
