The Covid-19 pandemic that has hit almost all parts of theworld has an impact on several aspects of human life, one of which is theeconomic aspect. The Indonesian people have also experienced this impact,especially those who are UMKM. This happened because the purchasing power ofthe people fell drastically, so that the circulation of money in the communitybecame not smooth, not a few of UMKM ended up going bankrupt. Zakat in Islamhas a high position, it is one of the five pillars of Islam. Therefore, Allahalways compares the words prayer and zakat in one narration in the Qur'an. Theproblem that needs to be researched is the extent of the role of zakat inimproving the community's economy. Are zakat funds allowed to be used forcapital as a stimulus for actor of UMKM affected by the Covid-19 pandemic? basedon research using qualitative-descriptive methods, Zakat has a closerelationship with community economic growth and zakat funds are allowed as astimulus for actors of UMKM in the form of capital, namely those whose businessdue to the Covid-19 pandemic suffers losses or goes bankrupt and falls intopoverty. This is included in the category of distribution of zakat funds forthe productive sector.

Merubah pola distribusi zakat dari arah konsumtif kepada arah produktif. Masyarakat tidak hanya menerima dana zakat kemudian habis untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari, akan tetapi diberikan arahan bagaimana dana tersebut dapat digunakan sebagai modal usaha yang dengannya tercipta lapangan kerja baru.
