In fact, Indonesia has become the sixth of the largest banana production country in the world (FAO, 2009). But currently, the production of banana plants Indonesia decreased drastically, primarily due to pests and diseases (Hermanto, 2011). Blood disease banana is the most important of banana disease which is characterized by withering the leaves, from the fruit exude the bacterial ooze with reddish colour. Total national banana crop production losses due to the disease achieve up to 31% (Supriadi, 2005). The development and distribution of BDB on Indonesia banana plantation area is very high, estimated to reach 100 km per year. Based on the survey, Subang, is one the area with the banana plant highly attacked by BDB, and until now the farmers do not know how to control it. Therefore, it is important to to find a solution to control the disease. The goal of this event is the introduction of Minyak Sereh wangi as insect repellent. The application of repellent technology was carried to reject the banana flower- visitor insect using “Sereh wangi oil”. Our expectation is the blood disease spread by insect vectors can be minimized. The event begins with the provision of material in the form of the introduction of insects in general, the introduction of blood diseases in banana plants, and how to use citronella oil as an insect repellent in banana plants. Activity continued with the guide the construction of repellent installation, and then the installation of repellent is carried out on the flowering banana plants. In this session, participants are educated how to determine the time of setting up the installation. When the banana flower has begun to emerge (bud), the reppelent instalation is fixing in order to prevent the insect visitor as early as possible. The repellent Installation was positioned near the inflorescence. Every 3 days Minyak sereh wangi dripped into cotton in order to maintained the repellent effect. The ecpectation of this activity is the banana farmer have the autonomy and initiative to control banana flower-insect visitor which are possible contribute to the distribution of the disease. Therefore, in the end of the event, each audience was given 1 pcs citronella oil as initial in applying the repellent in their own garden. 1 month later, they were monitored as the sustainability of these activities.
