Lembur Awi Village, Kab. Bandung, was used to be the place for huge natural bamboo forest. However, there is a massive replacement of the natural bamboo forest to agriculture, resulting devastating land erosion. This training was aimed to escalate the capability of the villagers in building with bamboo. They were trained to preserve bamboo as well, because preservation is one of the key success factors for a better bamboo construction. There were two methods in delivering the knowledge and skills. There were lectures in the afternoon to show them the best practices of bamboo construction. Not every technique can be practiced in the training due to several reasons, such as using different tools or applying in very different circumstances. Lectures were conducted also in the field by showing them the real bamboo structures in workshop area. The participants had to build a structure attached to an existing building, and also a lamella structure. They had to use modern bamboo joints using bolted joint and work with modern tools. In the end of the program, they finished their assignment to build a building and a lamella structure.
