Ecology Research Group (Kelompok Keilmuan Ekologi) a School of Life Sicences & Technology (SITH) ITB held the third webinar series on November 7, 2020 with the theme “Menghayati Ragam Flora Nusantara dengan Ilustrasi Botani”. This webinar activity was held through the Zoom Meeting video conference and SITH ITB YouTube channel livestream. There were 374 participants that were registered in this event. Those participants came from all regions of Indonesia, from Aceh to Papua with the dominance of participants that were students, lecturers, students, teachers, and civil servants at the office level and also botanical arts organizations. The main event was the explanation from Dr. Ichsan Suwandhi about plant diversity in Nusantara and then workshop session in botanical illustration. This event is divided into two sessions, the first session is a webinar presenting material that tells about the diversity of flora in the Nusantara and the principles in botanical illustrations. In the second session, a botanical illustration practical workshop was held by Dr. Ichsan by playing a video recording made of botanical illustrations using a sample of the Youngia japonica species from the Asteraceae Family. In his closing presentation at this workshop, Dr. Ichsan expressed his hope for all participants to always take the time to conserve the various flora of the Nusantara by depicting them into botanical illustrations which in addition to increasing the artist's understanding of the plants, also provides information and knowledge to others, so that, those plant species will always be able to introduced from generation to generation. This is a way to preserve the diversity of our flora.
