The 3 research topics were selected to cover the major theme in coastal environments. From a tourism aspect, the understanding of the environmental condition is an important thing to possess. Based on the analysis results, the overall condition of Tidung Island is still good for marine biota. There was also another study on tidal and seasonal circulation dynamics in the coral reefs, Berau Continental Shelf, East Kalimantan that offers the complexity of multiple reef passages and wet-dry exposure in mangrove zone. The coral reefs were exposed by river plume when southwesterly wind prevailed. At the reef slope of continental shelf edge, the model results suggest an upward flow that generated by a Bernoulli effect during flood tide, which may lift the nutrient-rich water to the reef passage. Finally, another point of view of coastal environment understanding reflected on the study of rip current study. To understand this process, field observation consists of drone observation, shoreface slope measurement, sediment collection have been conducted in Pangandaran beach. The community service program (CSP) aims to disseminate research results from the KK-OS to the wider community. This activity is carried out also for the teachers. The team provides guidance for teachers on ocean literacy for the elementary school students, especially for students who live far from the coast and the sea such as in the city of Bandung.
