Ringkasan Kegiatan

One of major problem in Indonesian highschool is lack of laboratory equipment so that in most of highschool students cannot do any laboratory work. The main cause is limited budget of the highschool. To solve this problem we developed a simple colorimeter that can be made with cost less than 500.000/ unit. Highschool students can use this colorimeter to understand the relationship between color of a solution and visible spectrum. They can also use the colorimeter to understand relationship between color intensity and concentration. Several chemistry concepts such as equilibrium and acidity can also be taught using this instrument. In this project, we have produced 4 colorimeters with digital output and has been characterized. The colorimeter has been demonstrated to highschool students at SMA 2 and SMA 3 Cimahi. The ability of this colorymeter has also been demonstrated at PEDC polytechnic Cimahi. After this project, we will develope collaboration with industry to mass produced the colorimeter so that it can be available for all highschool in Indonesia.
