Floating structure is a structure that has character of moving along with the wave, so it has to be able to anticipate the movements caused by waves and current. This structure will operate for a long time, so it must stand in any conditions, including the worst conditions that will occur while the structure is operating. Therefore, in planning and designing floating structure shall meet the criteria in accordance with applicable standards. The scope of this research is to obtain the dynamic response of simple floating structure and assess the eligibility in terms of feasibility and serviceability. The research was carried out by modeling two structures with similar dimension but different in terms of shape and draft. Each structure is modeled with taut mooring and catenary mooring, by using Hydrostar and Ariane7 software which capable of performing hydrodynamic and mooring analysis.

Oil and gas activity in shallow water is normaly operated by using fixed offshore structures sue to economic reason. However, the interest in floating offshore structure is increasing nowadays which encourage the development of floating structures research for shallow water. By neglecting the economic aspect, this research will be implemented in Indonesia since it is mostly covered by shallow water.
