The centenary of the Bandung Institute of Technology is an important moment for the orientation of the development of the current and future of art in Bandung. The exhibition of works of art with the theme “Continuum: Art, Science and Technology” is part of an awareness of historical reflection on the relationship between the problems between the development of art and advances in science and technology engineering. This kind of connection reveals the important role of the meeting and interaction between art practice and theorization with the principles of scientific thought and technological findings so as to produce an art transformation in the forms of its development to the present. The term ‘continuum’ which is used as a curatorial idea of this exhibition is intended to show the principle of defense of the conditions and nature of artistic progress that actually continues to take place along with various forms of progress in the fields of science and technology. The hidden and imaginative nature of the principle of progress shows its clear manifestations in the development of ‘ITB abstract art’ in the 1950s and then continues to experience various forms of change and renewal paradigmatically until now. The condition and nature of the continuum is an important issue to recognize and understand the forms of progress in the works of art created by ITB art alumni artists.
