Ringkasan Kegiatan

Ground water is one of the sources to fulfill water consumption of Indonesian citizens, especially West Java. Based on BPS data, 2019 more than 40%, the types of water resources used by the community come from ground water such as protected dug wells and pump wells. Along with many activities carried out by the community both from industrial and domestic activities, the potential for groundwater pollution becomes even greater. One contamination of concern is iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn). Mordenite is a type of Transcarpathic zeolite that is known to have mineral adsorption properties (Curković, 1997) this is justified by the results of the Pre-Bioregeneration Adsorption experiment with triplo data. Bio-regeneration has been tested by involving the principles of desorption and biological removal. Bacteria as oxidizing agents adsorb organic matter in a closed loop recirculation batch system (Ferhan, 2007). By employing bacteria, it is expected that the surface of the adsorbent can be recovered through the oxidation principle of ferric to ferrous. Bacterial culture was obtained from the Bioprocess Laboratory of the School of Life Science and Technology ITB. The use of bacteria that have the capacity to regenerate the surface of the adsorbent is clarified through visualization of the surface of the adsorbent which is performed using a characteristic test using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Post-Bioregeneration removal efficiency data. Bioregeneration helps increase the ability of adsorbents by utilizing microbes in regeneration.
