Ringkasan Kegiatan

One part of this earthquake disaster mitigation is soil investigation, particularly in terms of the dynamic properties of soil. The shear modulus/shear modulus (G) which can be correlated with the shear wave propagation velocity (Vs) is the dynamic propoerties of the soil used in seismic analysis. This dynamic property can be obtained through field or laboratory investigations. Multi-channel Analysis of Surface Wave (MASW) is a method for obtaining G and Vs in the field quickly and easily. However, according to the authors, the application of this method in Indonesia is still relatively rare and poorly known. In fact, this method is very potential and reliable to be part of the earthquake disaster mitigation stages in Indonesia. The general objective of this activity is to apply the MASW as an introduction to reliable land investigation methods to support the stages of earthquake disaster mitigation in Indonesia. In this research, a MASW system from consisting of wave source, several geophones, data acquisition (DAQ), and computer were used. This system was used to obtain data in the field, in this case in the Bumi Sipil, ITB. The MASW software was then used to obtain variations in G and Vs with depth using field data. The results from field measurements were ground motions due to hammer hit. This ground motions were processed further to obtain field dispersion curve, that is a relationship between surface wave velocity and frequency. The theoretical dispersion curve was developed with its corresponding Vs profile. It is seen that the theoretical dispersion curve was in good agreement with the field dispersion curve. This indicated that the profile Vs is one solution to describe the variation of Vs with depth in Bumi Sipil, ITB. With the shear wave propagation at the top 30 m equals to 348 m/s, the site class in Bumi Sipil based on SNI 1726: 2012 is SC.
