Residual stress and wear often become the cause of early damage to equipment or machinery. Residual stress generally appears on components as a result of improper equipment design and improper of manufacturing processes. wear problem affects the performance of heavy equipment vehicles as well as the extra cost and time needed to replace worn out components. Therefore, wear problems that occur in the components of heavy equipment vehicles are important issues to be solved. In this research, we conduct 2 tests to measure residual stress in deformed steel and wear test to understand the mechanism and characteristic of wear. a. Residual stress measurement, microstructure and mechanical properties of various manufacturing products. b. Wear test The conclusion of this research is: 1. Residual stress measurement is successfully done using hole drilling test method. The result of this research has been submitted and presented in 4th International Conference on the Science and Engineering of Materials (ICoSEM2019) at Kuala Lumpur and 4th International Conference on Advances in Manufacturing and Materials Engineering 2019. 2. Wear resistance test is successfully done using abrasive wear resistance testing tool which is developed specifically for this research. The result of this research has been submitted to Journal of Failure Analysis and Prevention and the status of the article is under review.
