Arjawinangun Village is located in Cirebon Regency, West Java Province. By contour, the location of the ground is flat and dominated by pesawaran. Regions that are very suitable as providers of clay raw materials. The Postong Block area in Arjawinangun Village was once in the 1970s) a block that almost all of its people had livelihoods as craftsmen of pottery. But nowadays, many have carried out other activities outside of making pottery, many of which turn into transmigrants outside the island, become factory workers, workers on the market and others. The pottery is no longer considered a item that has a promising economic value. It is inseparable from the rise of manufacturing plastic products that replace the role of piggy banks and other pottery household objects. The increasingly rapid flow of information obtained, as well as the rise of infrastructure and technology, participating in bringing a new view in society. This is very felt on local young people, the easier people buy cellphones, make a lot connected with other areas. Quota or internet pulses for mobile devices are increasingly easy to get. Credit outlets are lined up in the corners of the crowd. Easy connected with outside countries increasingly adds to a lot of information obtained. Local wisdom is replaced by a need. Lifestyle and views of the profession make the younger generation seeking a busyness of the economy than maintaining a tradition. Many people in productive ages are competing to improve the standard of living, impact on the decline in interest in pottery crafts that have existed. Gradually pottery crafts that have cultural values, identity and economy will be lost in the era. The Posong Arjawinangun block is an area that has long made a pottery. The location of Arjawinangun far from the center of Cirebon City makes access to information is hampered, plus human resources (HR) that have relatively low education. Social gaps are very felt here, the availability of raw materials, all can be obtained here without bringing from other regions. The presence of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in Arjawinangun Village, Cirebon Regency is a fresh air that is expected to be a solution to the problems in Arjawinangun Village, one of which is in local pottery crafts here. Through the Bottom-Up 2021 community service program initiated by the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), two brothers, Nur Azizah Fitria and Sofyan Alamhudi, and assisted by some ITB students tried to realize training in pottery craftsmen as a solution to the increase in the economic value of crafts the. The hope, the craftsmen can look at pottery crafts as one of the craft that is also worth the economic value.
