Activity Summary

"Aquaponic installation improvement projects in Haurgombong Village have been carried out, starting in June in November 2022. The aquponic installation provided is the addition, maintenance of improvements from the previous year. The total number of aquaponic installations given to the Haurgombong community is 10 units. The process of improvement by giving biofilter is also being carried out. Improvements from existing installations include replacing water pumps, plastic replacement for the base of ponds and fiber glass to cover fish ponds and plants. Of the 10 installation units given, as many as 7 units went well, with 2 units of gathering several problems including vandalism by children for aquaponics placed in elementary schools and village offices. The best performance is shown by a group of female farmers who can maintain and maintain the installation well and regularly harvest vegetables and fish for sale. Laying the installation in the village office is experiencing problems because the person in charge is unclear, while the installation placed in the school is experiencing problems because the fish ponds are made toys by students. Harvesting vegetables is usually done every month, overcoming kangkung, pakcoy and lettuce. Meanwhile the fish harvest every 3 months. The favorite type of fish for this installation is catfish because its growth is much faster than tilapia and nilem fish. The selection of this type of fish is based on the choice of the residents themselves. The training for community has been carried out, while we have carried out monitoring every month, as well as monitoring the installation performance. The training activities have been covered by local newspapers (radar sumedang), and paper related to this project have been presented in the International Conference on Rural Empowerment (The 4th Endinamosis0 Scientific Forum which has been held by the ITB Rural Empowerment Center on 30 November 2022. We hope this program can continue Continued to reach even more from the people of Haurgombong Village who received this Aquaponics installation."
