Activity Summary

"The community service activity submitted in 2022 is a continuation of the 2018-2021 activities related to the installation of sanitation facilities that have been carried out in Cinangsi Village, Cianjur. The proposed activity in 2022 will continue the program in the same field, namely controlling water pollution with the aim of continuing to provide knowledge (lifelong learning) and see the sustainability/sustainability of the dedication activities that have been carried out since 2018, given the complex of the problem in pollution control. Domestic wastewater treatment installation is an installation that processes liquid waste from household activities, so it does not pollute the surrounding environment. IPAL has been arranged in LH Regulation No. 5 of 2014 issued by KLH as well as Law No. 32 of 2009 concerning Environmental Protection and Management. Although various kinds of policies and regulations have been applied related to water pollution control, the decline in water body quality is still ongoing. This is due to weak supervision and law enforcement and public awareness related to the disposal of household waste. Contamination of pollutants originating from industrial, agricultural, livestock, and household activities has caused significant decreased water quality in water bodies such as rivers, lakes and reservoirs. Although currently a variety of policies and regulations have been applied related to water pollution control, including: PP No. 82 of 2001 and late PP No. 22 of 2021, but the weak practice of supervision and law enforcement caused a decrease in water quality in the water agency. Socialization and continuous guidance related to the importance of a healthy lifestyle to the community is important because around 60% of the contributor to surface water pollution is sourced from domestic liquid waste which is directly discharged into a water body."
