Activity Summary

Mandiri Disabled Creativity Foundation (YKDM) is one of the craftsmen of the prosthesis and hands in Bandung operating without the distribution of work stations and clear assignments, as well as the potential for ergonomic hazards. Another problem found is waste in the form of delay and transportation. The Community Service Program (PPM) aims to design the grooves and work station designs needed to help workers to work more efficiently and avoid ergonomic hazards. As a reference in the design of improving the process of making fake legs under the knee, the engineering method is used. Identification of problems is done by observation to find out the problem that will be lifted. Then, the Flow Process Chart used, survey complaints of muscle disorders and frames, and the checklist of the ergonomic hazard potential to obtain and analyze the data and facts of the problems in the field. Alternative repairs are made with reference to the principle of work design and anthropometry and design to design work stations. Repair of workflows is done using a line balancing. PPM results in the form of work station design based on design principles for the average and design for extreme individuals. The proposed layout adjusts the results of the calculation of work station needs, work area dimensions, electrical pathways, and efficiency between stations. The design made is expected to increase work efficiency by reducing 83.2% delay time and 91.7% of transportation time. In terms of security, it is estimated that the new design can cause a decrease in the level of ergonomic hazards from "dangerous" to "harmless" by reducing the potential for ergonomics
