In 2024, Janja Village, located in Lampasio District, Tolitoli Regency, was selected as the site for community service under the program for Underdeveloped, Frontier, and Outermost Regions (3T). This event was held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the Janja Village Hall, Lampasio District, Tolitoli Regency.
The event was attended by several lecturers from ITB Bandung, including Dr. Ir. Sutrisno, M.Si., IPU, Dr. Rijanti Rahayu Maulani, Sp.M.Si., Dr. Ir. Asep Darmansyah, M.Si., Raeheera Amara, and Sabilah Yassaraf. Also present were the Head of the Community Empowerment Agency of Tolitoli Regency, Samsuh M. Saleh, M.Si., the Head of Janja Village, Agustina, S.A.P., and the villagers of Janja.
During the meeting, ITB Bandung lecturers explained that Janja Village was chosen due to its specific needs and the potential of its community. They expressed hope that this activity would provide long-term benefits and help improve the quality of life for the villagers of Janja.
Collaboration with the local government and various local organizations is an essential part of the program to ensure effective and sustainable implementation, contributing to village development and inspiring the community in efforts to improve welfare in the 3T regions.
The ITB Community Service Team, consisting of lecturers and students, carried out a series of activities in Janja Village, including training in forest and agricultural product processing. This training focused on empowering the community and developing local potential through community groups.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Community Empowerment Agency of Tolitoli Regency, Samsuh M. Saleh, M.Si., urged the residents of Janja Village to take full advantage of this training to gain new knowledge and skills. He also hoped that the Janja Village Government could develop businesses through MSMEs and Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), especially since Janja Village was selected as the location for ITB Bandung's community service in the 3T regions.
