Installation of Ultrafiltration Units for Drinking Water Supply in Disaster Affected Areas

BANDUNG, lppm.itb.ac.id-IGW Home Ultrafilter is a membrane-based drinking water filtration technology that combines 4 stages of an integrated process in one device. The main filtration step utilizes a hollow fiber ultrafiltration membrane with an average pore size of 50 nm which is coated with ZnO nanoparticles as an antibacterial agent. Ultrafiltration membranes can separate iron (Fe3+), colloids, microbes, and particulates effectively while maintaining the mineral content in them. This tool is equipped with activated carbon in the initial filtration stage to remove odors, organic matter and residual free chlorine. Bioceramics in the final processing stage are used to restore freshness and essential minerals in water. These bioceramics also contain antibacterial particles for the final disinfection stage.
