Hanjeli Tourism Village in Cilentuh has Produced Economically Valuable Products

Pajampangan youth are boosting the creative industry by utilizing natural materials. This breakthrough is carried out in Hanjeli Waluran Mandiri Tourism Village, Waluran District, Sukabumi Regency. They create various unique products using bamboo as the main material.

This activity is an effort by local youth to enhance the creative industry in the Pajampangan area, integrated with the environment and the tourism sector in the Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu UNESCO Global Geopark (CPUGGp) area. Some of the products made include tumblers, keychains, and others.

The owner of Hanjeli Tourism Village, Asep Hidayat, stated that the Creative Division of the Independent Youth Group managed by Indra Waee, Rahmat Yusuf, Sulaeman Mahat, and several others create works from bamboo raw materials. This division also conducts research on products made from other materials such as coconut shells.

Asep mentioned that these bamboo products are the first step in introducing the works of local youth to the wider community.

"Our main goal is for local youth to learn a lot and have independent income in the future. This creative industry can provide promising business opportunities and, of course, make our region proud," he told sukabumiupdate.com on Tuesday (31/10/2023).

The production of bamboo-based products uses computer numerical control (CNC) laser machines. This tool functions to automatically engrave/print various writings based on the media used. Other tools used include lathes, sanding machines, and cutting machines.

Asep revealed that some products can be easily made in a relatively short time, neatly, and precisely. The items that have been made can be purchased by the public online starting from Rp 25,000 to Rp 150,000. Hanjeli Tourism Village also accepts bulk orders such as souvenirs.

"We hope that the presence of these local products can inspire us to act and speak at the regional level, as well as to genuinely love the products. Our hope is that these environmentally friendly products can fill the gap in life as companions for enjoying coffee, tea, and healthy living habits," he said.
