Teachers in Sepaku District, Penajam Paser Utara Regency, were given knowledge about artificial intelligence (AI) by the Community Service Team from the Humanities Expertise Group (KKIK) of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). A total of 60 elementary school teachers participated in the event titled "Artificial Intelligence for the Common Good: Upholding Ethics in Educational Technology."
Participants were introduced to and directly practiced using Chat GPT, Microsoft, and Gemini. These platforms are expected to help teachers in creating learning materials, finding ideas for teaching methods, and more.
Representatives from KKIK, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design ITB, emphasized the importance of understanding and anticipating the use of Chat GPT in education based on ethics. Ade Engkus Kusnadi, the team leader of this activity, stressed that teachers, as educators, must be adaptive to technological developments, but their use should be grounded in good values and ethics.
The teachers were enthusiastic about learning and understanding the use of AI and its ethics. They realized that no matter how advanced the technology, it still requires humans who understand its ethical use.
Through a workshop organized by the Nusantara Capital Authority (IKN) in collaboration with ITB, elementary school teachers in Sepaku District, Penajam Paser Utara Regency, were given an understanding of the importance of ethics in using technology, especially AI, in education. This program is part of the effort to enhance teachers' capacity to be ready for technological advancements in education. It is hoped that similar activities can continue and expand to other districts within the IKN delineation.
